§ 621-106. Obstruction of sidewalks, grassplots, crosswalks or other public places.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to park or stop any motor vehicle or to permit such vehicle to be parked or to stand upon any sidewalk, grassplot or crosswalk, or on, in or upon any public right-of-way area between the curbline of any public street, highway or alley and the adjacent property line.

    (b)

    In addition to the penalties for the violations of subsection (a) prescribed in section 441-215, any police officer, upon discovering any such vehicle so parked or left standing, may remove the vehicle or cause it to be removed to any city-owned or city-operated property, or to a private garage or place where so authorized pursuant to contract, where such vehicle shall be impounded and detained, and shall be released only as provided in this chapter.
